mark, the clenched fist isnt possible in this angle. try it urself, u will feel pain and nothing more by trying. id be happy if the main figure sculptors of the world, one of which u are, would stop doing such nonsense poses over and over again. also this clenched fist pose has been done to the death already.
the rest, of course, and needs no further compliments: fantastic as always. a pleasure to look at.
As others have said: what the hell are you talking about. Fist tightly clenched, all muscles tensed, its easy to get your wrist bent beyond this angle. I'm afraid its you that's the odd one out here despite your insistence that everybody else is wrong.
hey. i doubt u can do this pose under tension, as its supposed to be. do the arm like u wanna hit something hard, like hitting a boxing bag. and try to bend ur hand in the angle as its displayed. then tell me again if its possible without hurting like hell and feeling very unnatural.
writin u the same as phresnel: i doubt u can do this pose under tension, as its supposed to be. do the arm like u wanna hit something hard, like hitting a boxing bag. and try to bend ur hand in the angle as its displayed. then tell me again if its possible without hurting like hell and feeling very unnatural.
Again, im doing it. And i clenched hard plus just normal tension for the pose. Its a perfectly normal position for the hand/wrist to take. you dont have to be digging your nails into your palm. Obviously she isnt. P.S. you really might want to consider getting your nerves checked out
well bud, then u are a rubber human and u should consider urself a super human. the other option is: u dont understood what i meant and u dont understood how the pose is meant to be. i guess we have to leave it this way, as im too lazy to send u a link to some vid of how i mean what i say. if u insist, which would be fine cause i really wanna see how u tell me i was right and that u played the arrogant smartass ( ), then i can try to find some.
Must say I can reproduce the pose, too, even when I tense all my arm muscles.
It is a bit painful in the tendons if you pay attention to the thumb. However, I am not even sure the model is actually tensing her muscles; it looks more like a victor's pose like e.g. also seen after Formula 1 races.
And then, of course, there's the factor that not all humans are equal. I know quite some guys, for an instance, how can bend their thumbs back by 90 degrees, where for me, the thumb would be utterly destroyed if I tried to reproduce the pose. And the model we are talking about is not even human
not sure if we mean the same yet. i dont talk about the thumb, i mean the whole hand angle, that is inward.
i remembered some: if u can do pushups on ur fists, the knuckles, (shoulderwidth apart), then do those. and try to bend the hand inwards in 35°, the same angle as the figure does. this is the pain im talking about. and no, dont try those really, as u will fall on ur face. but then again... u can try. with one fist bend that way.
so...the pose is of course meant to be under tension, otherwise it just makes no sense. cause it would be a very soft and fragile pose, which is sure not the intention.
and of course theres people with unusual hands and bla, but i doubt a lot that the figure girl is meant to be one of those.
show me pls that f1 pose. a link to it. some pic of course where the whole forearm can be seen without clothes from a good angle.
i just keep asking, cause im really very (very!) sure, u cant reproduce that pose as its displayed, under tension. i will ask and let more people try that pose.
I beg to differ. I can easily do this pose (Did a test in photo booth) . Might be something wrong with your joints. Have that checked. He he! Wonderful work as always Mark. Big fan of your work (I have the Poison Ivy sculpt you did)
scroll up pls for my answer. in short: if the hand isnt under tension, its of course possible (even it would make even less sense then). but if, as its supposed to be, its not possible. pls tell me if its still possible under tension. and bent it not a little, bent it in the 40° angle as its displayed.
Yep.. just got the notice last week. To tell you the truth, I'm kinda tempted. More of a Boba Fett, Darth Vader kind of guy, but this particular piece really spoke to me. Still uncertain, but I cannot deny the draw.
