'Iris in bloom' by MarkNewman 'Iris in bloom' by MarkNewman
This is the original sculpture from a line of figurines called "Ebony Visions" designed by Thomas Blackshear.
I sculpted this in Super Sculpey.

"Iris in bloom" by *MarkNewman is a wonderful piece of sculpture with an immense diversity in both textures and structure, the folds in her clothes, the firm stalks on the flowers, the texture of the wooden tree, even the subtle details such as the lines on the palms of her hands and eyebrows have been painstakingly crafted. The detail is absolutely stunning! In case this one was cast, which I suppose, how do you make the mold for this one with all the grass and flowers? Or can the figure be taken apart more than what is obvious?

You are the Michelangelo of our time, I believe. Your work is so perfectly rendered, and beyond that, it conveys so much emotion. I think that your work will survive the ages. If your pieces were in museums thousands of years from now, I would not be in the least bit surprised.
